I have been where you are.
Not in exactly the same way. Nobody has been through your life. But I know what it is to be worn down to nothing and to have no idea how to get back.
I am Lorraine. I have spent close to twenty years working with people through the hardest parts of their lives, and a fair while before that living through some of my own.
I have moved through more than my share of hard chapters. Some I chose and most I did not. What I learned from them is the part I could never have got from a course: what it actually feels like to be stuck, how unhelpful most advice is when you are in it, and how much difference one practical thing can make on a day when everything else is too much.
The training matters too, and I have done a lot of it. But training on its own produces someone who knows the theory. What I want to be is someone who knows the theory and has also sat where you are sitting.
What I believe about this work
You are not broken. You are not failing. Most of the women I work with are coping remarkably well with something genuinely hard, and have been for so long that coping has started to look like normal life.
I also believe change has to be practical to be real. It is lovely to feel understood for an hour. It is better to feel understood and leave with something you can actually do on Tuesday when it all starts again.
And I believe in going at your pace. Growth is seasonal. There are fallow stretches, and they are not failure. Slow is still moving.
